| Excellent life story, adventure. Bought because of its aviation aspect and personal Greek attraction with the Battle of Athens during the last war. Having served on 84 Sqn RAF in Cyprus it was really interesting to review first hand flying activities during these times of conflict. A really nice short story. |

| I bought this book for my niece who is 9 yrs old. Helen Keller was a hero of mine as I was growing up. After reading this book, Helen has become a hero to my niece. Loved it. |

| I bought copy at school bookstore and once it waa picked up, the reading never stopped. Poor English. Broken phrases. Awkward literary tome that spills the guts of young soldier thrust into storming of Normandy. He knows little at first about war but soon gets used to the drugery, fate, killing, and hardships. | The students enjoyed the story, illustrations, and humor. They also enjoyed the "What happened next?" opportunity to make predictions and get instant feedback. I had activities to go along with the book and I enjoyed how nicely they tied in. |

| Our daughter is obsessed with this book! The binding is kind of crappy and fell apart quickly, so we had it spiral bound. This was a worthwhile investment, as our kid can't get enough of this book. |

| If Ms. Kerley chose to write about a spirited, happy child in the context of a political time, she succeeded in making it fun and funny, so I guess that's good. But boy, did she misrepresent Alice.
Alice Roosevelt Longworth was an unhappy person, with problems that would resonate with today's kids. A miserably "blended" family, a distant but overachieving father who never even mentioned her mother's name after her death--since it was also Alice, it was a constant source of pain--her perkiness is easily seen as acting out.
