| Solid construction, cute illustrations, fun textures for little ones to feel. My only complaint is that one of the puppy's shaggy ears get kind of poofy so the book won't close completely. Other than that though, great book. |

| My daughter has loved to have these books read to her since she was just over 1 year old. She now "reads" them to herself. She loves the rhymes and the animal sounds. Sandra Boynton is a favorite author in my home. |

| I think in most cases color more than likely fits the bill to get the attention of kids. But in this case, simple black and white illustrations do so well as far as a night story involving a little kitten. Kevin Henkes does a great job throughout the whole thing. Plus it kept my daughter's attention the whole way through, and that's what I'm always looking for.

| This a pretty good very thick book. It really is like a book with a curriculum it has mostly everything you need. It really takes the guess work out what to teach them before they go to school. Some of things included were: opposites, rhyming, colors, shapes, matching, one to one, and writing/tracing. I think any kid would like it. |

| We purchased several of the beginning Kumon workbooks -- Numbers, Easy Mazes, Tracing, and Cutting. Our three year old daughter looks forward to using her books. The cutting may seem simple to an adult, but it truly requires a young child to concentrate. I have never seen her quite so focuse! For the other books, I tear out and trim the pages, then place them under a clear desk mat. We can write on the mat with dry erase markers. | This book was great for starting my daughter out with writing skills. My wife and I blindly assumed that we should start with the letters in her name (R) but the book has the kids starting out with straight lines (T, H, E, etc...). That makes a lot more sense. My daughter looks forward to working on her letters.
One watchout: I was told that most parents teach their kids to spell there names in all caps. However, I'm told this is very hard for teachers to correct once the kids start school. Read More: |

| I purchased this book because it is written in Spanish with English subtitles and I thought it would be a fun way to teach Spanish to my two year old son. But the book lacks imagination and excitement. It is almost weird to read. I've been reading to my little boy since he was a newborn and needless to say, he loves being read to.
