| Although this fairy tale is a nearly thirty-year-old classic, it is still timely for girls. The book was a birthday present for a great granddaughter named Elizabeth, who loved reading a story about a heroine who shares her name. But the book pleased her even more because Elizabeth the heroine is smart and brave, and learns that sometimes handsome princes are just silly and not worth the trouble.

| I came across this book when my wife found it on the shelf in a local bookshop.
She read it and encouraged our son to stop dancing around the bookstands and concentrate and read it. Although he prefers video games he loved it. When I met up with them, he was so enthusiastic that he persuaded me to read it. My daughter then loved it when she had stopped looking at 'her favourite books' in the store. | I love Prisoner of Azkaban. I think that this was the novel that really hooked me into the series. I have a hard time writing a literary review of any of the Rowling novels mainly because I do not feel like I'm reading a novel when I read these books, I feel like I'm on vacation. I'm transported into another world and forget to look at the subtext or deeply analyze anything that the writer is trying to say because it is just to much fun to just read it. | This is probably one of the best books I have ever read. We read it in my fourth year french class, right before graduation. It is such a simple tale wherein lies a deep and meaningful message. It is open for interpretation, which is part of what makes it so great. You really have to think in order to gather the entire message. I hope to purchase the french version soon. |
