| My daughter has loved to have these books read to her since she was just over 1 year old. She now "reads" them to herself. She loves the rhymes and the animal sounds. Sandra Boynton is a favorite author in my home. |

| An incredible and moving experience on the infamous Birmingham bombing. Despite the historical connection, there is still a strong family vibe going on here through marvelous characters. So much of it is funny and real and all-too-true to families, but there are timeless themes of segregation and racism and all the pain involved with this time period. |

| I read somewhere recently that "The Kid Who Ran for President" is a perfect book for upper elementary/middle school students to read to understand the election process. Whoever made that comment is totally right. I learned a few things myself.

| Of all the books I received as baby gifts, this book has had the longest lifespan. It was my daughter's favorite book as soon as she was old enough to turn regular pages, and almost a year later, it still is. Unlike shorter board books which become very repetitive, this book still has poems that seem "fresh" to me. Everytime we read it's a different experience, depending how many pages we turn at a time. | The characters in this wonderful story jump out of the book, bypass your brain and go straight to your heart. Leo, the narrator feels very much like every high school student must feel, and it is portrayed perfectly in the text. Every single experience he has rings true, from his good moments to the ones where, if he were standing before me I would have punched him square in the mouth.
