| This book was clearly written in a different time. Apparently, the only warning that Little Critter had that he was getting a new sister was on the *day she came home*. That's not realistic to how most children today are raised!
It does show a normal, if somewhat idealized reaction to a new baby - Little Critter can't show her his favorite toys, but he *can* let her pull his finger. I was a little disappointed to see the presumably newborn baby left alone in a crib with a bottle ... Read More: |

| I've reviewed many of the Berenstain Bears books available at Amazon. I mix these books into the bedtime reading rotation for our two young sons. I like these books because they allow me to review manners, morales and important lessons at the end of the day.
"Learn About Strangers" is as important a topic as it is difficult to teach without scaring your kids. This book shows how everyone needs to be aware of their surroundings. At different points in the story, both of the young bears get caught ... Read More: |

| This book is so different than the average children stories! My 4year old loves it, mostly for the illustrations, I love it for the language used. The descriptions are wonderful, if only I could speak or write this way. It exposes us both to great timeless stories.

I have a lot of respect for a writer who can take holes, lizards and onions and create an incredible story. This book was amazing. It held my interest from the very first page. The characters were lovable and interesting (I particularly liked Zero), the plot was fast paced and engaging, the writing style was easy to read and follow. | My two-and-half-year-old daughter loves these "How-To" dinosaur books. I bought How Do Dinosaurs Go To School? first, which she was hooked on and triggered me to buy this one, which she equally loves. She can memorize and articulate the 10 dinosaurs names provided in the book, just as she could with the other dinosaur book, which also introduces 10 types of dinosaurs. | I first read this book when I was in the fifth grade and loved it. i read it too many times to count. Recently, I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the children's section of my local library. I checked it out, preparinf myself to be disappointed and find the book was not as good as I remembered. It wasn't - it was even better. I ordered a copy to stick on my shelf for my kids when they are old enough to read. I hope they will enjoy it as much as I did! |
