| For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of interesting information, and some gorgeous artwork. One complaint that I have is that it mis-ranked several people, and it was missing way too many transformers, Decepticon and Autobot, than I care to think about. Overall though, a good buy, simply for its little facts and interesting bits of trivia. |

| i thought this book was going to be good, but i didn't know it would be this good. each well-known childrens' book writer/illustrator writes about their lives, influences and inspirations.
included are ealry photos, first drawings and a full page self-portrait. so thoughtfully put together. a beautiful book to browse through and inspire you and your children to pick up a tool and draw, paint and create. |

| i thought this book was going to be good, but i didn't know it would be this good. each well-known childrens' book writer/illustrator writes about their lives, influences and inspirations.

| My daughter loves to look through this book. She calls it "the dancing guys books" based on the first work shown---by Keith Haring. We all enjoy looking at the cakes in the Wayne Thiebaud painting, and the LOVE painting.
However, I wonder why the words are really necessary. The rhymes all seem forced and add very little to the book. The last one annoys me the most---"Icky, sticky mustard bread, Poke the crust and go to bed." Now what the point of that? I tried reading the text along ... Read More: |

| my grandson is three-years old and loved this book! he sat down and in one day had gone through the entire book. my daughter and my son-in-law erased the pages when he was sleeping so he could do them all over again! |

| I bought this book for myself as well as my kids. I wanted to learn how to knit, but any "teach yourself to knit" book I've ever seen is too complicated. What better way to learn than when instructions are simplified so even a child can understand! I can't wait to get started on some of the other crafts too. No dull handprint turkeys here - these ideas are exciting and ingenious! |

Different Like Coco is a perfect book to illustrate one of the dead horses I am constantly beating, though I didn't realize it when I first put the book on the to-be-read list. The point? That message books are, with exceptions so few they don't matter in the greater scheme of things, infinitely inferior to books written with no overarching message in mind. | What a wonderful book! We checked this out from the library and have read it several times this week, at my 4 year old's request. We will be buying it for ourselves and our friends. This book opens up even a small child's imagination and makes them wonder what will happen next. My four year old wanted to draw a story after reading this book. I'll be looking for more books by this author this weekend at the library. |
