| What a wonderful story. For ages approx. 8+ but I thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult too!

| A classic children's book - or is it? Sheila Burnford (1918-84) has said she never wrote it to be a children's book, and indeed it's written in a very realistic manner - no talking animals here. | I'm glad we saved this one for last. It is so wonderful to see Henry grow more thoughtful and responsible in this series. He still has some madcap adventures and funny scrapes, but he is becoming such a nice gentlemanly kid. And that little Ramona is right on. What a wonderful series of books. |

| I just thought I should explain that clearly (hint, hint) after reading a few of the negative reviews. NOT a whole lot of singin' and dancin' going on in the south during Reconstruction, historically speaking that is. And this book doesn't make you feel "sad"...just oppressed...wait for it...ah, ha!...a masterpiece for all races, without a doubt. If younger readers don't get it, that might not be such a tragedy after all. |

| The characters are Ralph, Ryan and Brad. Ralph has a motorcycle but his relatives want to ride it. But Ralph thinks the relatives will get their tails stuck in the wheels and brake the motorcycle.
Ryan lived at a hotel and brought Ralph the mouse to school in his pocket. Ralph had problems with lots of stuff, a maze that Brad wanted to be harder with trap doors and tunnels. Ralph was mad at Brad. My favorite part was everything. I would recommend this book to people that like motorcycles and cars and mice. |

| My 4 and 6 year old daughters and I listened to the audio CD in the car, and we all were riveted to the story. It is told from Emily's point of view, and describes her response to finding out she's like a fish when in the water. It's a positive story for any kid who feels out of place and lonely amongst their peers, and explores the excitement of finding your own talents. Some suspense, but not too much for my preschooler. |

| My 7 year old daughter received this book for Christmas and what a wonderful book for any child who loves horses and stories about them.
This book breaks down the stories by country and describes in detail the history of the breed of horse specific to that region and the story. It is a wonderful blend of fact and folklore with gorgeous illustrations. The stories are rich in detail but are not "fairy tales" nor are they about unicorns or flying horses or other horse-like animals. | Little Bear is a favorite TV show for some of my grandchildren. This CD lets them enjoy the stories when they are in the car, or just to listen to the CD at bedtime. The reader has a wonderful voice and it is very soothing and relaxing to fall asleep while listening. I recommend this CD for children from ages 3 to 10. |
