| I feel funny reviewing books that are older than I am (this was published in 1967), but I will share what I thought. I thought this was a cute story, and I don't know how I missed this one when I was young...it seems like it would have been just my style! And, except for a few details (such as how much things cost and the fact that Claudia wears a petticoat), it doesn't feel like it's outdated. | This book was good, but nothing as good as the others, or humorous. It just seemed like a bridge to book five, but with only rising action you can tell the last book to the series will be a hit. |

| Once again, Amazon was able to recommend a book that my son loved. I used to say that I had a son that didn't enjoy reading, but I feel like I can't say that anymore. He loved this story and kept reading parts out loud to the rest of the family. We all ended up reading and enjoying it. The main character is very easy to relate to and the author did an amazing job getting the reader to understand the character's problems and emotions. This book is a must read for all kids!! |

| This book is amazing! It pulled at emotions from younger immigrant children, as well as mixed adolescents, teens, and adults we shared the book with. Though it is untraditional and doesn't use written language, the pictures tell the story better than words ever could! |

| I ordered the Scholastic Children's Dictionary for my third grader. When it arrived, he wanted to look at it, and couldn't put it down. It was interesting to him and well illulstrated. |

| The audio book is truly excellent. I strongly recomend it, not only to youths. The CD is a full version of the book. It's performed by Jim Dale, who does an excellent job so that it's hard to believe that there's only one actor.

| We all know and love this story. In this special anniversary addition, the publishers have included a beautiful painting of Hagrid and the First Years crossing the lake by Mary GrandPre as well as a hand drawn sketch of Snape by J.K. Rowling herself. The dust cover art is of Harry looking into the Mirror of Erised (my favorite chapter). The book itself is covered in Gryffindor house colors -- scarlet with gold stars all over it. I'm looking forward to collecting all seven anniversary editions for my home library. |
