| I just put this book down. It was absolutely beautiful.
I warn you, though, this story is probably not for the sensitive (as demonstrated by the negative responses). Still, I think this is an important story for the overindulged, entitled generations that we are raising. It is about love, and appreciation, and loss, and need. The characters are very real and have qualities in people that we all know. I loved this book. It was so moving and I would highly recommend it. Read More: |

| I throughly enjoyed this little book. I thought it was quite charming. It kind of reminded me of the series of unfortunate events. Mainly because of the way it's written. I'm glad it ended happily and thought it was whimsical and silly. I think this would be a great story to read as a family. |

| I suppose a little history first. I first picked up Eragon several years ago in a book store after hearing plenty of buzz about its young writer. After snickering through a couple of badly written chapters, clearly by an amateur, I dropped it right back on the shelf. | Fever, 1793 was an accidental find. It is a totally intriguing book about the malaria epidemic in Philadelphia. It is historically accurate and the author cites her sources at the end of the book so they don't interfere with the adventure. This is a young girl's story of survival when the fever strikes her home. She deals with death, looters, and economic survival in a community ruled by fear. | My six year old daughter loves these books! I purchased the books # 1 through #19 which were written by the original author. My daughter is reading at about a 4th grade level. These books are easy to read. She tries to figure out the clues and solve the mysteries. This summer she is reading 1 book every 2 days. They are each about 125 to 160 pages. | I love this book.
I understand it is a stereotype of the Chinese immigrant man. However, every single Chinese immigrant I know has trouble with the Rs and Ls in English, and I live in a big city surrounded by many immigrants. Chinese Americans do not have this problem. |
