| My kids do like this book (ages 3 & 5). It is silly & a nice Thanksgiving book.
However when reading it I do omit "perhaps she'll die" I didn't think that was really needed & didn't want to read that line. I asked my oldest son about that part. He said he didn't think that was very nice to say that. So, I omit that part but the rhyming & sillness of things she eats is cute. |

| We didn't have Dr. Seuss where I grew up so I don't have any misplaced emotional attachment to the "original"; for my daughter this will be the original. I love this little book and so does my daughter. When we start reading it she jumps up and down and laughs and claps her hands, we make it interactive with toys like a stuffed pig and a clown doll, yawning for night time, juggling on the "well feet" page. | Nancy Tillman's other book, "On the Night You Were Born" was my favorite to read to my daughter- this new one is just as wonderful. The illustrations are gorgeous andd the story is great to read. Definitely a high quality book. I recommend the set to any new parent. |
