| This book is nothing but the silliest tall tale ever, about a town where food "falls from the sky", but it works.
My nieces really sit still for this one, which is sometimes a bit of an accomplishment :) I will say that it goes on a bit long in parts, describing the way food falls from the sky, but it's not that big a deal to me. |

| I read this book to my students and then used the predictable format to create a class book highlighting the important thing about each student. The students seemed to enjoy the story quite a bit. |

| When my son was 3.5 years old, a parent I knew from the private school my other child went to told me most kids were reading in kindergarden and that I should start working with my child to help him be prepared for school. | My daughter loves this book. My husband and I have read it over and over. I'm not sure how much closer we are to having her potty trained but it does have cute pictures and the words have a nice cadence to them. |

| Pros: Fine for read aloud. Exciting stories for young (K-1st) grade children who are ready for chapter books.
Cons: Serious grammar and usage problems that may rub off on the children's own writing. Poorly-developed plotlines with not enough "meat" for the age level of children they are meant to target. | Super Book, as are all Dr. Seuss books! Book was new and as described. Fast shipping...rec'd in 4 days. It would be nice though if Amazon didn't set the shipping rates so the sellers could use media mail for their books to make it cheaper for the purchaser! If they didn't charge the flat $3.99 rate, it would make purchasing more affordable and one could do it more often! I'll buy from this firsttrust_books seller again! |

| Being an avid reader my whole life, I don't know how I skipped over this book as a kid. Recently I decided to brush up on some classic literature, and I grabbed this off my bookshelf...wow. This has to be one of the most AMAZING American tales of all time...and it's definitely in my top five books ever.

| If you have a two year old at your house these books are a wonderful addition to your library. Our grandson was entranced by these books, which I enjoyed reading to him. He continues to ask for the "bear" book over and over and will actually sit in my lap for an entire reading. He has also learned more about colors and animals through these little books that he can hold while I read. |

There are many controversies about The Giving Tree, many will write that it is a self-less act of love, an issue with co-dependency, or may even send a bad example of relationships with creating selfish children/adults.
