| This book was clearly written in a different time. Apparently, the only warning that Little Critter had that he was getting a new sister was on the *day she came home*. That's not realistic to how most children today are raised!

| Compared to other Berenstain bears books, the new ones by Mike Berenstain have a lot of words and can get a little boring and mundane. They also don't start with the clever little rhyme like his parents did. They still teach the lesson but it's a little bit over kill and if you are reading these at bedtime (like myself) suddenly your reading time is quite a bit longer, so instead of 2 books you may only have time for 1. |

This is a great book to read to toddlers to teach acceptable and unacceptable behavior. It has colorful pictures and using simple words easy to understand. This book also offers tips and advice at the end for parents and caregivers. |

| In my school district we talk a lot about social, emotional literacy. This book is great in showing students that differences and individuality is what makes everyone unique and exciting. I used this book with seventh grade students and they loved the fact that I was reading them a storybook. For many students it has been so long since an adult has read them a storybook but I feel it is important to continue to model how to read fluently. |

| The artwork in this book is really nice and detailed. But as far as Halloween books it isn't ranking up high for my 4yo son's favorites. He thinks some of the illustrations are "scary" and call me overprotective, but I wasn't thrilled with the devil page. In a year or two I expect my son will like it a lot more. |

| Wonderful books for beginning readers. This box set is great value.
I bought the first set of these books for my 6 year old nephew. He lives in the UK where these books are not so readily available as they are here. He is enjoying them very much, so my plan is to be a very cool aunt and keep him supplied with them until he has a complete set. |

| I had tried many different books from Black Beauty to Little Britches to enrich our homeschool literature time.
No joy. Of course, to be fair, it's worth mentioning that my children are still all 6 and younger (all five of them!)
