| I found this book very helpful, if a little lack-luster, in teaching a unit on Africa to my 6th grader. It has good drawings and photographs, and a nice section on African history. Of course, it is too small a book to cover anything very deeply, but it was an excellent first step for a broad overview. |

| We LOVE this book. Our daughter (6) is passionate about ancient Egypt. She loves everything about the past there, and we've read a zillion books. THIS ONE, however, was the only one where we fell out laughing as we were reading it, and that we laugh with again and again. Clever illustrations and excellent writing make this book a MUST-READ. The other books in the series are equally as good! |

| My issue with this book is not the actual counting in Kiswahili, but that the other books in this series are countries and not continents. This book could misinform a child that Africa is one large homogeneous group, and not made up of many different countries as well as cultures. |

| "Hatshepsut, His Majesty, Herself" is a very good book for children or people who just want a straight forward history of the first succesful female pharoah in ancient Egypt. This was the first book I read of Hatshepsut and I enjoyed it alot. It encouraged me to begin to learn more about her. She was truly a great ruler and worth investigating further.
