| Here is one terrific writer who as a parent I would encourage you and your kids to select from some terrifically written books especially for kids who don't read enough or haven't grasp the value of well written books!

| I bought this along with the "Dangerous Book for Boys" for my son, who is nine, for Christmas. He actually picks up this book more often than the "Dangerous Book". It is full of easy to read "things to do" and full of illustrations. My son and his sister especially like the animal traking section. They have taken this book with them on hikes in our back woods - hoping to find some unusual wild animals (like bears, wolves, etc). Lukily for me, they will only see deer, squirrels, and turkeys. They seem to be having a lot of fun with this book, but getting them started was a little slow: there is a clue-tracker sheet that one must create before moving on with the book and, for some reason, our girls (9 and 12) seemed a little put off by this task. But, now they have done that and seem very engrossed in the art scandal.

| One of my son's friends bought this book at a Scholastic book fair. I've never seen a large group of boys (all around ages 8-9) so captivated by a book that they sat for an hour paging through it on the playground. My son begged to borrow it and read it non-stop for an entire rainy Saturday. My younger son, who is 6, took it to bed that night and read quite a bit of it too.
