| This is a really well written book about Ancient Egypt that drew me right in. It covers everything you can think of regarding the Sphinx. The Muslims who tried to deter the Egyptians from continuing the worship the Sphinx and the labor involved in making it. A really, wonderful book. Read it! |

| I thought this a homerun book. My family is baseball crazy and we have 4 children. When I bought this book and brought it home there was an explosion in my house.........even though we live in London, baseball is very exciting and we follow it continually. Thank you for such a splendid book and for letting us understand the times in the USA when Jackie Robinson lived. |

| I bought this book because my 2 yr old grandson fell in love with another Wibbly book called "Everyone Hide from Wibbly Pig". Although this one reminds me of Jack and the Bean Stalk, it's simple and fun. I think "Everyone Hide from Wibbly Pig" is the all time best, but this is certainly a wonderful follow-up to that. ALL of the Mick Inkpen books I've purchased for my grandson have been favorites that we have read so many times, my grandson can 'read' them to me because he knows them by heart! ... Read More: |

| I would give this book 5 stars on aesthetic appeal alone, and another 5 stars for its retelling of Andersen's classic fairy tale. However, I am removing a star, down to 4 stars, as the themes are a bit dark, and heavy. This is not light reading for a small child, but a complex, compelling story of a Little Mermaid to whom an eternal soul is gained through her growth and understanding of love.

| Be aware that there are 3 books with the exact same story word for word. "The Haunting of Granite Falls", "The Haunting of Hiram C. Hopgood", and "The Haunting of Hiram" are all the same story by the same author. Just a different title and different cover art, same book inside. This is not the author's fault by the way, it is just that 2 publishers have the right to publish, Puffin and Macmillan, and this is what they have done.
