| My family - husband, wife, and girls who are 8 and 6 - listened to The Star of Kazan on CD during a long trip to the beach and back. We were all interested in the tale and enjoyed the book. I'll let you read other reviews to learn more. But specific to the audio book: the reading was excellent and beautifully modulated, and the writing was well suited to reading aloud. |

| The story is an adaptation of the original, more or less a hybrid of the old Disney cartoon and the Sleepy Hollow movie starring Johnny Depp, but Gris Grimly's art brings this tale to life. The format borders on graphic novel and the hardcover edition is absolutely beautiful. This book is perfect for Halloween, rearing Gothic children or unusual fairy tale collectors like myself. |

| This book was published in England in May 2005 and will release in USA in 2006. So I bought the British copy as I could not wait for another marvelous story from Eva to send me into stitches of laughter.
In the story a brother and sister, Madlyn and Rollo, are sent to stay with their kindly Uncle at his "Castle Clawstone" set in the Scottish Highlands. | Both my kids enjoy the Kipper stories and I love the illustration style. The stories are short and the words are familiar for beginning readers. I wish I could find more Kipper books. |

| Overall, I enjoyed this book despite some long and boring parts involving the characters just talking to each other. Every part seemed to have a certain twist of adventure. The adventures made me never want to put the book down. I was encouraged to read the book until the end.

| I found this an ideal fantasy book for children. It's a simple story, but imaginative and fun in its fairy tale form where good is rewarded and evil punished. Kids that don't fit in can connect to the characters of Odge and Ben. I really like the relationship between Ben and his grandmother, and I hope kids could appreciate their own family relationships. It's perfect for children around 3rd or 4th grade, but I found a lot of subtle humor for adults. |
