| Though long a Tintin fan, and having read almost every Tintin book there is, I found this Tintin to be a turn-off. For one thing the storyline and art is not as well-developed as Herge's later creations. However what disgusted me was the Colonial attitudes of Tintin, constantly paternalizing the Africans, and brutally murdering animals left and right. | My daughter loved this book. It's a fun read-aloud, but not so difficult she couldn't read it to herself the next night. And the illustrations are so cute. |

| CENTENNIAL EDITION LITTLE WOMEN OR MEG, JO, BETH, AND AMY A wonderful book I remember from my childhood and plan to read again. The illustrations by Jessie Smith are outstanding. Also, the story is set in a period of our history which is so fascinating. |

| My granddaughter was having a very strong reaction to her new baby brother so I gave this book to her. We all about died laughing the day she announced she was moving to Florida, behind the rocking chair, with her 3 bags of toys. Not the dining room table that Frances moves to, but it seemed to do the trick and granddaughter is adjusting well. Seriously, this book really helped her with her feelings about another child coming in to the family. Thank you to the Hobans! |

| My son is in 8th grade and never a big reader (which I am trying to change). This book appealled to him on two levels. First, the short story format was less "stressful" than having to commit to a full length book. Second, the variety of stories has something for everyone. Some stories he identified with personally and others he felt helped him understand someone his age with a different background. There was also a mix of humor and seriousness that he really enjoyed. We both reccommend this book heartily. |
