| We got this cookbook for our 7 year old daughter for Christmas because she is a huge fan of Roald Dahl's books. She instantly went crazy for this cookbook, and even her 3 year old brother is fascinated by it. The recipes are so much fun, and the pictures are a wonderful combination of food photos and illustrations. | This book was originally published in 1940 and the end notes tell us that it was the last one written by Jean de Brunhoff before his untimely death at age 37. The story and line drawings were finished but the illustrations still needed to be colored. Jean's brother took care of that with the help of Jean's son who was only 12 years old when his father died. | After several of the previous books in this series were somewhat disappointing, this book was a welcome improvement. The author paced the action better and formulated the mystery better than in the books just prior to this book. While I rated this book at four stars, when I compare this book with other books in the series I think it is one of the better books in this series.

| One of the books I read that Grampa bought me was Footprints Under the Window. I enjoyed it very much. It was about the Hardy's and Chet having to find a machine that the bad people took. They also had to try to find out who left the footprints under the window but, it turns out that Mr. Fenton Hardy was the one who left the footprints under the window. Mr. Hardy is the father of Frank and Joe also known as the Hardy's. Fenton had to be very quiet while sneaking the house to get some papers because no one could know that he was there. ...
