| The Prydain chronicles, endling in the Foundling, are perhaps one of the best children's series ever written. The quality of the writing is outstanding, Alexander's descriptive abilities are wonderful, his characterization is flawless and his stories are enchanting. I read them all as a kid, and recently just finished them as a read-aloud series to my two oldest (7 and 9). They were as enthralled by them as I was as a kid. Great old themes of good vs evil. | I was looking for an anthology for students who read between the 4th and 7th grade level, something other than the typical core by the big publishers. The stories are well written, captivating, and present an array of genre. Best of all, my students love the book. |

| This book holds a special place in my life because it is the first book that I ever read by Louisa May Alcott. I suspect that I stole it from my grandmother's library. As the first, it was my favorite for a long long time-- particularly since it didn't make me cry buckets the way that Little Women) did (does). It left me with an enduring love for idea of little gifts from foreign lands-- one of the things that happened to Rose that just seemed to me so very wonderful.

| Although I think it may be a bit advanced for my 9 yr. old, I'm still glad I purchased this book for my most recent book club choice. A gentle book that flows easily, and the characters change for the better in wonderful ways. The one thing that bugged me was Mrs. Shaw and her smelling salts. It almost seemed to me that Polly Milton was the better 'mother' to the Shaw family. All in all, this is truly a memorable classic. |

| The best childrens book I have ever read... I was an elementary School Teacher and I read 26. once a year times and still found it a spellbinder. Years go by and when I meet the now grown ups still talk about this book. I suggest that an adult read yhe book to the children.. |

| Although a very easy read, this is one of my favorite fantasy novels. This book starts the Kiesha'ra series, and starts it well.
The Avians and Serpiente have been in war for hundreds of years, so long in fact that neither side know's how and why the war got started. With nothing more to go on than the revenge for their people's deaths, the two new leaders of each side are tired of the endless bloodshed and seek help from a neutral land. Crispin got accused for murder and stealing money from John Aycliffe. And now he is trying to capture Crispin because he tries to leave town. Then Crispin met bear and had many adventures. Will Crispin get out or get caught before he leaves? I thought this book was boring because it was really confusing. I recommend this book to people who like boring books that have to do with old times. |
