I saw recommendations for this book in a couple of places before reviewing the book for myself. It is well written and illustrated and would be appealing to young kids in early elementary school. It is written in a humorous way that introduces children to important words and concepts that they need to know to get along with others.

Didn't realize this was a mini-version of the book till I received it. It's about the size of an adult's hand (fingertip to palm). Doesn't make the best gift.

I purchased this book for my best friend who is having a boy come this December. I did so because I remember so many good memories when my parents read it to me as a child that I wanted him to share those kinds of memories with his son. Despite other reviews of saying this book is "pointless" or "dark and scary", we the reader don't always need to put on our critical, psychoanalytical, or marxist lens and analyse the books we read our children. Doesn't that take the magic out of books like this? Moreover, ... Read More:

I purchased a newer version of my childhood favorite book and found that it is not the same book. Alas, someone decided it needed to be edited to make it more PC and to add some other changes that really make no sense at all. If you're a die-hard fan of the book from your childhood, be sure to get an older used copy!

This latest visit with the ebullient Fancy Nancy involves a class trip to a planetarium. Nancy, being such a sparkling star herself, can't wait to go. The idea of seeing planets and constellations appeals to her boundless sense of imagination. She and her friend Robert prepare for the evening by putting glow-in-the-dark stickers in the shape of constellations on their shirts, and baking star-shaped cookies. The kids orbit (a fancy word for spin in a circle) until they are dizzy. Later a rainstorm ruins their plans, but Nancy ... Read More:

I found this book while I was looking for a gift for a six year old boy today. I loved it so much that I got one for the birthday boy and one for my almost-six year-old daughter. It is absolutely amazing.. Alexander is having a bad day, no not just a bad day, a horrible day, as we, adults, call it "a day from hell"... So he decides to move to a far away land where people do not have to live days like this - but guess what? He figures it out.. Anyone, anywhere can have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day... It happens to ... Read More:

My three-year-old daughter is the third generation in our family to have enjoyed this imaginative book.
