| I Was hesitant at first to read this book, but once I starting reading it, I could not put it down. I was, and still am, and advid Anne Rice fan and, though this is not in the same league as the Vampire Chronicles, it's good to see someone reviving the spirit of the Vimpire. | I checked these books out at the library and, as a writer myself, was shocked to learn that these could even be published. I would expect writing of this quality on fanfiction websites, or even high school students just looking to escape from reality. But the fact that a publishing house APPROVED this drivel to be sent out into the world is nothing short of upsetting. | I give my wife 5 stars for getting me this book. It was a sweet jesture. But I am sure she will not be happy when my head explodes from me reading all of these theological reviews. I THINK I know what the author wanted to get across while writing The Shack, but I am curious if the heat worked alright in the '69 Volkeswagon Van he wrote it in? Cheap attempt at a metaphore for his brain when he takes scriptural ideas from the HOLY bible and interprets it into his book to make the story flow. Sorry... I like to have fun recommending this ... | My first impression was that Gladwell's latest book has a price:weight ratio significantly pricier than any recent "sure-to-become" NYT best seller. My genetic frugality was overcome by the desire to read it and I plucked out my cash ... proving, at minimum, that Malcolm does understand capitalism for starters. I was betting that "Outliers" was going to be cocktail party discussion fodder, not to be missed.
