| Ms. Harris' book is written in a more conversational style than your average technical read, but don't forget you will be tested on the official ISC2 materials. I recommend their book for studying and Ms. Harris' book as a supplement, not a substitute.

| Amazingly I've been waiting for the 4th Edition since 07/2007 - then 11/2007 then summer 2008 finally it arrived fall 2008!
When it arrived I bought it quickly. A great book that perhaps is a bit advanced for beginners - be careful if you are just starting out with MySQL and PHP - this book may not be quite for you. |

| Excellent Book to Study From. I must say, I read (honestly) books from other venders (read: Sybex) and none of the books prepared me better for the exam than good ol' Wendel.
Wendel writes from the heart and he is honest when it comes to material covered in the exam, at times he goes at length in the book and you may wonder why he does, but in the long run (read: the exam) it all makes sense. | I'm just about finished my MCITP: DBA Certification on SQL 2005. So far I've done 70-431, and 70-443. I've been working with SQL Server for a number of years now, and I've recently switched over to a full time DBA position.
I read this book in about 2 weeks, and did the exam on the third week. I managed to get 910 on the exam, out of 1000. As 700 is the passing grade, I'm more than satisfied with anything over 900. | This book is pretty comprehensive. I started learning WCF with the 15-part web series provided by Mrs. Bustamante that accompanies her book. Learning WCF: A Hands-on Guide
I highly recommend her read if you are getting started. However, if you have some familiarity with WCF - this one will take you further. It has plenty of easy-to-understand code samples and a wonderful best practice section near the index. I have been able to incorporate things in this book with business - and that is what really counts. |
