| This is a little long for my kids right now and doesn't hold their attention as much as shorter tales, but as a longtime mermaid story lover, I am certainly enjoying reading these books. In addition to a new twist on mermaids and undersea life, there is plenty of action and just the right amount of fancy to capture our imaginations. I am happy to add this to my collection of childrens books. |

| I have loved mermaids all my life, and I am really enjoying the Emily Windsnap adventures, even though it is geared to tween girls and I am a fully grown up girl. This book is well written with picturesque language. I could see the sparkling island setting in my mind, and I could hear the characters' words and feel their emotions. I love reading about sea monsters and this particular Kracken didn't dissapoint. I plan to read this again and I am ordering the Castle in the Mist to add to my collection ... Read More: |

| We love the whole Disney Fairy series. These larger books are wonderful for reading to a 5-7 year old! My daughter and I read them every night, and it takes about 3 weeks to finish one of the big ones. I only wish there were more in the series, we are almost done! |

| This is a wonderful tale and really captures the imagination. I think it might eventually become a classic because it reminds me so much of a lot of books I read growing up. The storyline felt familiar, though this is a very original story. The language is colorful but well written. This is one of those books a young girl can get lost in and read over and over. I enjoyed reading it myself (as a older girl), and I highly recommend it. |

| My seven year old loves this book and I have to say even though it doesn't teach the foundations of art, it's a good doodle book and I think it's really fun and sweet. A book for younger kids, maybe as a birthday present or for the kid who doesn't want to learn the history of art, or art form and techniques. I liked it. |

| Just added this nifty little themed children's cookbook to my collection. I have all of Ms. Beery's books in this series and have given them as gifts with great success. The format is rather successfully designed to interest children in cooking.
All three of the books rely rather heavily on recipes for snacks and deserts. Things that kids are normally attracted to. However the "Mermaid Cookbook", third in the series includes more meal items such as salads and sandwiches and a greater use of fruit. Which ... Read More: |

| As the title of the book states, this is a retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's THE LITTLE MERMAID, but what it fails to mention is the story of UNDINE. UNDINE, which was written by Friedrich de la Motte Fouquee, is another classic but lesser known fairy tale about another water maid. The main character of MIDNIGHT PEARLS, Pearl, is based on Undine. I don't understand why this aspect of the story is not mentioned.
