| The problem with this work is that in order for it to be reasonable, one must accept Mr. Friedman's premise: that the earth is getting hotter, flatter, and more crowded. While it is not a stretch to believe these things, he presents them as an emergency. Without the emergency he initially creates the rest of the book loses its steam. while some aspects of the premise may be true, the attempt to make it alarming diminishes its credibility. | I purchased this book since it has such high reviews on Amazon. Unfortunately, all the book provides are obsessive techniques on how to organize your tasks. Still, you would come up with them yourself anyway as they are all basic common sense.

| its a collection of articles written going back 20 years. there very informative, but some are very complicated and since most articles are by different authors and on similar subjects you end up reading the same information a few times. |

| My husband and son work for the same company and had done the earlier version through work. I thought it would be good to evaluate my strengths. I liked the on-line assessment which comes with this book. Drawback is that everyone using the book must by their own copy to do the assessment. This version is concise and hits things right on. | Reading this book now (January 2009) is like watching a horror movie and seeing yourself in it about to be attacked.
Schiff does a great job explaining the causes for our current situation, and laying out why there WILL be a crash and a complete devaluation of the dollar within the next few years. The government may be able to slow the process down, but his big prediction is that a recession will eventually combine with hyperinflation to cause the economy to collapse.
