| I've heard for several years the absolute wonder of this book. And finally I get around to reading it. What a joy to do that! This book is thoroughly adorable, packing heart I did not quite expect as well as an incredible blend of illustration and photograph. While I warn that certain ages of children may not be as impressed with it as others will, it's a wonderful book for whomever will listen. |

| This is a good book about the adventures Corduroy goes on in order to find a button. He *doesn't* find a button, but that's all right - a little (African-American, if that's relevant) girl takes him home anyway. "I like you just the way you are!"
I do find that Corduroy's dialog is a little sappy, and it's somewhat weird to me that he can actually talk to Lisa, but it's still a good book. |

| My 3-year-old daughter and I love this book. The illustrations are so fun to discuss and I really like that the story gives an example of making lemonade out of lemons when something less-than-optimal happens. This is a great introductory book when diving in to the Fancy Nancy collection. |

| My 2.5 year old daughter received this book as a gift and we have never read the first one. The story is wonderful, funny and cute and the illustrations are a very creative mix with real photography. My daughter has this book memorized now and reads it to me which is priceless. I'm getting her the first one for her 3rd birthday and I'm sure it will be a great addition to our home library. |

| This is a book I thoroughly enjoyed as a child. I began to borrow it from the library for my own two boys and decided, finally, to order one from Amazon for my son's birthday. We returned the borrowed book to the library the day before his birthday and there were many tears. So, you can imagine my son's elation to open up his very own "Little Engine That Could" on his birthday. A fantastic book! There is also a newly released version with gorgeous illustrations. | I just put this book down. It was absolutely beautiful.
I warn you, though, this story is probably not for the sensitive (as demonstrated by the negative responses). Still, I think this is an important story for the overindulged, entitled generations that we are raising. It is about love, and appreciation, and loss, and need. The characters are very real and have qualities in people that we all know. I loved this book. It was so moving and I would highly recommend it. |

| My 2 year old son loves this book. He's loved it since he was about 9 months old. It's rhyming and fun to read out loud with bright and interesting illustrations. Sure to be a hit for any boy who loves trains! |

| I used to read this book to my own children and bought this copy for my grandchildren. The book is still as much fun for the grandchildren as it was for my children -- and the best part is I get to watch my children enjoy reading it to their children! It means they have fond memories of me reading to them. |

| This is a cute book. It does have some interesting tactile choices. Very basic story line. Left my 2-year old son wondering what happened to the rest of the story. More appropriate for pre-verbal children. |
