| As a retired elementary teacher, I value literacy experiences for young children. I purchased this book for my grandson's third birthday. He already had "My Big Truck Book" and loves it, it is one of his favorites. He has well over 100 at the present time, but turns again and again to this one. "My Big Train Book" is fast becoming another favorite. The bright pictures are great. I would recommend either or both these books. |

| This is a great book for kids who love trains! My younger four year old sons love reading it with me and my older six year old son likes looking through it independently. The pictures (photos) are interesting and there is great information all through the pages. |

| Ed Emberly's books are so great. If your child can follow visual directions and draw a line, circle and color in, then he or she can draw these things. My son is five and can draw these. He is quite smart and loves trains and trucks, so those are probably factors. When he isn't drawing from the book, he loves to look at it. Great for boys. |

| My toddler boy is nuts about trains and he likes this book pretty well, although he can't quite understand everything it says. The illustrations are rather good and the information generally is very useful. We'd buy it again. |

| My 2 year old loves this book!! He loves trains and this book is so catchy and cute that my son has parts memorized. He can almost read it back to me! This book also helped my son understand some different features like the signals, switches, tunnels, coach cars, and different features that make up a train. If your child loves trains, then this will further your young ones knowledge to some extent. |

| The pictures are great and the wording is easy and accurate. My son just turned 3 and he enjoys it but we both would have liked more detailed explanations of how the trains work and what the different parts are called. Overall, a good choice for little train-lovers just starting out. |

| My daughter loves trains, so I bought this lovely picture book for her. She has me read it to her all the time! It has lots of interesting stuff about trains and the history of locomotives without being overly wordy. I think she especially likes that the greatgrandmother of the narrator was an engineer in the 30's. |

| I purchased this book for my 17 month old. He loves it. He goes for the book sometimes several times a day. The book is well made in that it will not fall apart: the binding, the part that holds the music, and the thickness of the pages. The book also doesn't stop playing if one of the buttons are pushed. I recommend it. |

| Those of us who are older often didn't have books like this to learn from. I'm 58 and my father is 88 and we live in an old town with trains. Boy, did we enjoy this book! Coupled with a more pictoral/photographic book on trains, one can really learn a lot! Get it. You won't regret it! |
