| My son received this when he was almost 4, and understood the concepts of solid, liquid, and gases by 4.5yo! This describes the concepts in such a way that youngsters can easily understand, but won't bore older children. I would highly recommend this book, along with other books in the "Let's-Read-And-Find-Out Science" series. |

| Big Book of Dinosaurs
I bought this book as a gift for my 5 yr. old grandson who says he's going to learn more about dinosaurs than anyone else! As soon as I gave this to him, he sat down with it and started "reading" it! Even ignoring the remote control monster truck his uncle had given him. |

| This is NOT an introduction to rock hounding as I had hoped.
The bulk of the book contains interesting information about the three types of rocks (igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary) that was easy for young readers to understand. The end of the book briefly encourages kids to go out and collect their own rocks, aiming for a variety of colors, and then to go home and try to identify them.
