| I teach history classes for homeschool junior high students and use this book as the spine of our program. The paperback's font is way too small-- I recommend the hardcover.
The book is divided into 4 sections: prehistoric, ancient, medieval, and modern. The Ancient and Medieval sections are available as stand-alone volumes from Usborne. | I love this book. I am a homeschool mom who is using this for a history spine for our world history studies. This book is packed full of information with colorful photos. Each topic has two page spread. Timelines are made very easily with this book. |

| Great resource for young children! My 3-year-old is into skeletons, and the digestive process, so this book was good for his little curious mind. Obviously, some of the concepts are a little advanced, but he'll get there one day! I even learned a lot! Some of the pages in my book were a little off-print, but my fault for not exchanging it. |

| I bought this book for my 5 year old son -- who looooves bionicles. He loves to create the bionicles in the book, however the pictures are small so it makes a bit harder. He does love to listen to the descriptions of all the bionicles. Only complaint -- larger pictures would have been better. |

| I bought this for my oldest a year or two ago for Christmas and it was and still is a huge hit.
In fact this is one of those books he insists on taking with him on longer drives or trips. He loves animals, dinos, etc. So this book was perfect for him, gave him pictures, basic information and other little bits and pieces about each animal. | Though the cover is gross, we enjoyed the author's other book Oh, Yuck so we purchased this one. These books are filled with fun and interesting information. The author has a great sense of humor and presents topics in a way that is fun to read. My child, and even adults we showed the books to, were fascintated. Books like this help make science and history interesting. |

| We purchased this book to use as a reference for homeschooling. It is a good reference book to get a glimpse of information on many different topics. The illustrations are beautiful.
The downside to this book is that it treats evolution as a fact. Evolution is a theory that has yet to be proven. That is why I gave it only 2 stars. | I am not knocking this book at all. It is an excellent book for the older kids group. I read several reviews that stated people bought it for thier children aged around 5 years. My son is 5 and he is as die hard about dinosaurs as any one I have ever seen. There are not enough pictures in this book. The content is a bit scientific for a 5 year old.
