| Suitable for preschoolers, this book is written from the perspective of the younger sister who is still too young to fast, but notices what her older brother is doing. I'm not very impressed with the illustrations; they make the family look like they are dumb or simple minded. |

| I'm a big fan of Macaulay's work and have nearly all of his books. There is no denying that "Mosque" provides a much-needed introduction to Islamic culture for Westerners who are increasingly interacting with and often clashing with the Eastern world. Macaulay has added color to his illustrations, a departure from earlier works like "Cathedral" and "Pyramid." | Demi writes a children's book of Muhammad and it is wonderful. She gets around the fact that human images are not acceptable in Islam by having a gold figure pose as Muhammad. The book covers all of Muhammad's life, especially his religious conversion. I highly recommend this book. It is glorious to look at and wonderful to read. |

| I think this book is great for several reasons: 1) The illustrations with each story are tastefully done and draw kids into the story as you read (or they read!) 2) The shorter stories and large print are perfect for bedtime or before a nap 3) the one-page proverbs and words of wisdom between stories are great previews to the stories 4) the stories themselves are well told, diverse in themes, and appropriate for kids of any religious background (themes transcend cultural/religious boundaries). | One of my Core Knowledge units that I use with my fourth graders is a unit on Islam. This book is very comprehensive and has great images. The kids like reading this book and it teaches them more than the boring textbook. Definitely worth every penny! |

| This book is an excellent source of information about Ramadan and Muslims fasting. The writing is appropriate for elementary school students, and at the same time has more information that other books on the same subject. It is also important to note that the information is accurate. |

| I bought this book as an Eid-al-Fitr gift for my 9 year old step-daughter. I think it perfectly suits what I was shopping for: a simple explaination of what we do, why we do it and photographs of Muslims around the world who fast, pray, read Qur'an and celebrate just like we do. The book, writing, and all of the photographs are beautiful.
