| This is a story I have read many times since I was a child. I'm sure every little girl goes through that phase where she would like nothing more than to be a wild maiden living alone with the animals, and that is probably the basis of a lot of appeal. But that does destract from the fact that this is an incredibly written, incredibly moving story of survival and the overcoming of loneliness.

| This story is told in repetitive verse which tends to capture the attention of young children. It is similar in structure to "the house that Jack built", where each sentence repeats and then builds upon the previous sentence to tell the story. This story follows Emily as she gets dressed in her costume for Halloween.

| I was so excited to find Goodnight Moon in Spanish, as the English version was a favorite of my siblings 20 years ago, and my 15 month old son today. We have dozens of Spanish translations of English books, some of which work better than others. I had hoped this one would at least be okay, but for me, it seems very awkward and loses the charm of the original; and my son will not listen to even a page read in Spanish.

| This has to be one of the best books! My kids- 5 & 2- love books, we read all the time and are always at the library and bookstore. They both instantly loved this book and we read it over and over. They both get up and dance and sing right along with me. I highly recommend this for any age. I'm positive it will be on our book shelf all year and not just at Halloween! |

| I did not expect this book to amaze me as much as it did. Maybe it's the fact that this is based on the true story of the author's grandmother, but this book is written with such heart and love it will set you weeping. At the same time, it's beautiful, touching, and rich in inspiration and the human spirit.

| I have taught for 17 years, the last six years at the middle school level. Roll of Thunder is one of my favorite books to teach, and it becomes my students' favorite book by the end. Infact, I would say, several students go on to read the sequals. The audio version is well done and interesting to listen to as well. This is one of the best books I know of to teach tolerence and peaceful ways to protest when you are wronged. |

| Monster is an amazing book, because, at least for me, it transports you to a world you don't see every day. One in the courtroom, one in jail, on on the streets. The unique way it was written kept my interest, and made it feel like you were sitting right there. The dialogue was awesome, and it was all written in dialect that seemed realistic. Read this book...you will love it! Or if you don't love, you will at least be fascinated by how the main character's fear is so real, you can feel it. |

| An incredible and moving experience on the infamous Birmingham bombing. Despite the historical connection, there is still a strong family vibe going on here through marvelous characters. So much of it is funny and real and all-too-true to families, but there are timeless themes of segregation and racism and all the pain involved with this time period. |
