| My 9 month son adores this book. It is a cute, sweet story for any little one and I think he will continue to love it for a long time. His 4 year older brother likes to join in too when I read it. |

| Wow! Found is a fast-paced and riveting beginning to a new series by Margaret Peterson Haddix, author of popular YA books such as Running Out of Time, Among the Hidden (Shadow Children #1), and Turnabout. I guess that, considering the title and the picture of the airplane on the front cover, comparing it to the TV show LOST was inevitable -- but I have to say that the prologue of this novel made my hair stand on end, just like the pilot episode of that show.

| it is for very young children. We just adopted an infant and purchased the book to eventually read to him, but also to show our nieces and nephews to explain adoption. My 5 year old niece asked why a kangaroo would adopt a baby bird instead of a baby kangaroo! LOL But, we still like the book and was a great way to initiate the conversation with the kids. |

| I love the illustrations, but as many other reviews said, the message is so one sided and sad. It gives the feeling that the child should be grateful to be adopted. I adopted my son through foster care and have the same reaction when people say what a wonderful thing my husband and I are doing. I always feel they have it so wrong, my son was the wonderful thing that happened to us! |

| We like this book. Our 7 1/2 yr old loves books and loves to read so we cannot make many negative comments about any book. However, I as a parent of two adopted daughters think the book is geared towards much younger children and definitely meant for a child you are just introducing the subject of adoption to, unlike our 7 1/2 year old where we've started the conversation with her younger then age 3. The wording is also for younger children. |

| I enjoyed this book especially because my grandmother was a rider on an orphan train when she was around 11 years old. She is still spry at the age of 98. The story she tells me is almost identical, for she felt she was tall, plain and ugly. Her mother died in New York and her and all of her brothers and sisters (6 of them) came to Texas. I think everyone should know about this part of our history. Eve Bunting did a wonderful job of telling the story that so many orphan train riders will never have the opportunity to tell. |

| My five-and-a-half year old and I read this book recently (after a conversation about ways we look the same and ways we don't, and ways she might look like her birthparents and ways she might look like me). At the end of the book, she said, "That warms my heart. Can we read it again?" Tonight, she said, "Can we read that book that made my heart warm?"
I agree with some other reviewers: if you're not a family that prays together, the praying page is a little awkward, but still, nice to illustrate the variety of things families ... Read More: |
