| I had to make a first review here in protest at such junk packaged as high-brow kids lit. The dark content is off-putting, but all the more so because it comes with an exceedingly poor plot & is written in an achingly moronic style. Honestly, I think the book adaptations of straight to dvd barbie movies exhibit better literary flair. I'll reprint here another reviewers thoughts that echo my own...

| I ordered four copies, one came with alot of print written in it and highlighting. Was supposed to be in excellent state and I couldn't track who sent it.
Wonderful story, but the poor state of the book detracted from me giving it as a gift...I rate the story as a 5+ but the book you sent a 1. So give it a 3 overall. |

| This is a very EARLY book to start out with for your little ones. It is good tho'and ANY books you start out with are Good ones.. just make sure you DO IT... it is never TOO early to start reading to your little ones . |

| I remember reading this story to my children and now purchased it for my grandchildren. We had a lot of fun reading the story and reciting Tikki Tikki Tembo's name. It brought back fond memories and the tradition of repeating this looooong name with much emphasis on each syllable will continue for another generation. |

I was so touched by it, really all choked up as I read about Ferdinand. I just couldn't hold back my tears.
