| I bought this book to read with my daughter before we went on vacation to China and actually saw the Terra Cotta Warriors. I doesn't come close to showing how phenomenal they really are but the history is wonderful and now it's a great reminder of a wonderful trip. |

| I am especially fond of this book because my mother-in-law tells her story as a 6 year old child living in Pearl Harbor and recounts her memories of the bombing. The inclusion of these "personal" accounts of war makes you consider things that you may not have considered before... like a mother trying to maintain her composure while her husband leaves for duty all the while keeping small children quiet, safe, and in complete darkness at night... | I purchased this book to use as we study the continents. (We are homeschooling). It gives tidbits of information about New Zealand, just enough for a surface glance at this country. Which is OK for our purposes, but would not be useful if you really wanted to study this country in depth. Also the pictures were drawn or sketched, and did not really give us a realistic look at this country.
