| This is a very thorough, entertaining, and informative treatment of the subject of mummies. Illustrations in the book were inspired by ancient Egyptian art. This is a great book to supplement any elemenatary study of Egypt. |

| We use "Our Young Folks' Josephus" as our primary history spine which mentions all these cultures as they relate to Israel. What I like best about this book is that it covers cultures that are often not well represented in other books of this type, particularly the Nubians, Mesopotamians and Hittites. There are many craft activity guides available for Egypt, but nothing that I know of for these other cultures. The crafts are really well thought out and a lot of fun to do. | The Paper is high quality. The pictures are beautiful before you start coloring and the lines and images are great. there is just not much too color. everything is there already and there are not many ways TO color the pictures. The author of this book deserves great praise. I am sure many younger children will enjoy these pages, but I am afraid I will not be one of the one of them. |

| As the other reviews have said already, this book is colorful and engaging. It's a great book for mid-late elementary kids to learn about the diversity of the African continent ... but in a story-telling format interesting for kids. I own this book myself for my own children, and also bought a copy for my daughter's elementary school library. |

| My son had to pick two books off of a large list to read over the summer for school. After reading the other reviews of this book, we picked it. It was a wonderful choice. The book was very interesting, fast paced, well written and easy to read. I read it in 3 hours, and my son was able to read in in a few nights without any complaints of boredom. |

| We checked out every Egyptian craft book from our library for a homeschool unit (grade 5, and this was among the top 3 that we actually used. The projects in this book go beyond mummies and pyramids, and some are very unique (hippopotamus statue) while others are a bit cheesy (masks out of posterboard). This would be great for a classroom teacher as most of the projects can be completed in a short time and with few materials other than posterboard.
