Every single one of these reviews is planted. Fake. The majority are pristinely written and punctuated TOO nicely. And they all say the same thing. "I couldn't put it down" "It's not bogged down with description" "I wasn't interested until such and such..."

Really?!

That being said, I haven't read the book. But I AM interested because I read an article about how Haarsma had video games in mind when he wrote it. He's trying this to reach out to the generation of kids that favor ... Read More:

I bought this book to read to my three boys, ages 8, 10 and 12 during a long drive to the Grand Canyon. It was obvious from the start that "Over the Edge" would be too sophisticated for their age group.

The invited guest in the story "a tall, thin, hollow-chested" 15-year-old society drop-out and computer geek says things like "those intellectual pygmies... The whole town's filled with freaking morons... the only way to fit into Cow Town was to turn into another stupid lemming."

This book is a breezy page turner for the adult crowd that wants a read about computerized RPG gaming. It is also good for the audience (pre-teen/young teen) it was intended for, given that the reader likes fantasy.

The book begins with the characters already in a computerized RPG game that they have pirated themselves into. The game's appeal is that it allows the players to be completely immersed in their adventure and for them to be given memories and expertise so their chosen characters can survive.
