My daughter and I love love love this book. It is so creative and everytime we read it (which is seriously twice a day) she finds something new in one of the pictures. The cadence and flow of the sentences is almost mesmerizing. Really delightful to read!

Books : The Man Who Walked Between The Towers
The Man Who Walked Between the Towers is a true story that every family will enjoy. It is a story that causes strong emotions in its readers. Phillipe Petit was a daring and determined young man who wanted to follow his dream. His goal was to courageously walk between the Twin Towers on a thin cable. Mordecai Gerstein's words and illustrations made this suspenseful story come to life. We felt frightened, even shivering, as Phillipe, using perseverance and humor, accomplished his goal. As you ... A little bug sneezes and each consequence leads to a bigger one creating in the end total chaos in town, and all because a little bug went ka-choo!
This book is a fun way of introducing the idea that even our smallest actions can have important consequences. The story is funny, and the rhymes are catchy.
The book is by Dr. Seuss under another pseudonym, what else could we expect from the good doctor but a hilarious story that children will love???

I was thrilled to find that the story of Modac has been written as a children's picture book. I read the book Modac to my fifth grade class and they sat enraptured. My small grandchildren listen just as intently to the picture book. When they are older, I'll read Modoc aloud to them too. There are many lessons woven in this story. The love between a boy and an elephant, courage, faith, perseverance, and keeping a promise. I promise you won't be disappointed when you choose this book.

My 7 year old daughter (just finished 2nd grade) loves this series. She has read almost all of them (including the older "notebooks" editions) this summer. We don't know what we'll do for an encore when she's finished, as the regular Nancy Drew books are still a little long/ intimidating for her (each of these is only about 70 pages). She likes solving the mysteries, but also loves having the familiar characters in every book. We highly recommend them, and will give them as gifts to her friends in the ... Read More:

I am a big fan of Harold and The Purple Crayon books. They really spark my 4 year old's imagination. But if your child tends to be easily frightened this will not be your favorite. Harold runs into a large lion with very big teeth, and falls thinking he will be caught by the elephant but gets caught by the lion instead.

The Morris and Boris books are another set I was introduced to by my husband and his family. I personally don't enjoy them as much as either the Frog and Toad series by Arnold Lobel or the George and Martha series by James Marshall. Morris and Boris's friendship doesn't make any sense in this book. They never seem to like each other and they are always arguing.

In Morris and Boris at the Circus, Morris decides to join the circus. Before the Ringmaster will hire him he has to prove himself during ... Read More:

Books : Sidewalk Circus
This book is very successful in linking real world to circus. I think the idea is just wonderful, and the illustrations are exquisite.

The authors show that if we only open our eyes to every-day people, we will see how skillful they are in their jobs. It shows, for example, how a food carrier could be a STRONGMAN in the circus, and how a window cleaner could be a trapezist.

I really agree with the idea, I think the circus is so great because it is a place where we open our eyes and our ... Read More:
