| David Wiesner's ability to tell a story using only illustrations, and fine ones at that, is amazing.
When a boy finds an antique camera washed up on the beach, he is intrigued by what images it holds inside. So intrigued, that he takes it to be developed and waits as it's done. | From a teacher and graduate student's view point, I thought this was an awesome book. It was full of adventure and suspense. Skeet was on a mission and he was going to let nobody stop him. I think this would be an awesome book to use as a teacher read aloud and/or used as a "cliffhanger" activity. His Memaw added a touch of humor to the story which made it even better. Finally, the end had a surprising twist to it and one that I wasn't expecting. This was a very fun story to read. |

| My grandson drags these books with him everywhere. He opens the book and point to the animals and repeats the animal names and feels the "touch and feel" portion of the animal. He even snuggles some of them. The book is made well, the pictures are really cute and there is just enough to get him interested without boring him (at only 1 1/2 years old). We read other books at bed time, but these books get read and played with all day, in the car, on our walks to the park...

| While the song is adorable and the pages are nice and sturdy, what I really like about this book are the illustrations. They are vibrant and clear and my son loves looking at this book over and over again. He is 16 months, so it is easy for him to point out animals and ask what they are. I like how the whale goes from being a baby, to a larger whale in the book and how different pages are shown with different perspectives. | In the spring my niece bought a hermit crab for her three children (no pets allowed where they live). With it she bought a larger shell for the future. It is hand painted in red, white, and blue.
