| Librarians will probably love this story more than most, but any child will too. A lion comes to the library one day and eventually captures everyone's heart. My son told me that he thinks the lion thought the library was a place for him because of the stone lions out in front of the library. Beautiful artwork, lovable characters. A true classic. |

| My next door neighbor, six years old, recently informed me, brightly, that she is in "the enrichment class." (Just imagine, I might have thought she was a late bloomer or, worse--gasp--average.) | This is a favorite for my 2 year old. Counting is represented 3 ways on each page spread - in the text, a visual number in the same location on each page, and by the number of animals on each page. Great picture book for counting, nice text for reading.
The back of the book offers a bit of material that we read over as well - descriptions of the Masai people, and their way of life, a map of Tanzania, and visuals + descriptions for all of the animals. |

| This is a great board book and touchy feely book for age 8 to 9 months and up. I would even buy it for as young as 3 months old. It's sturdy, durable, colorful, beautifully illustrated. This book has won the Parent's Guide Award. They learn about the different textures and love looking at the pictures. A plus to this book is that there is a mouse hidden in the pages that they can look for. It gives them great satisfaction when they see it. It's a great reading readiness book and talk about book.
