| I often say that almost all of my theology comes from reading "The Narnia Suite," which I read for the first time at the age of eight, and more than a dozen times thereafter. I was particularly taken with The Last Battle, in which some people are very surprised indeed to learn that those they thought wouldn't be admitted into Aslan's Land because they fought on "The Wrong Side" of the aforementioned last battle, were in fact instantly admitted because it was their intention and their heart which was judged.

| If you haven't read these books, you are missing something very special!! I have always admired C.S. Lewis and his writing.....but, after reading the Narnia books, I have even more respect for him and awe for his genius! I LOVED these books!! |

| I had no clue that Lewis had written a sci fi trilogy when I stumbled upon this one completely by random. I was in between books and it is certainly a quick read, so why not?
I am glad that I did. Lewis does a great job in telling a story and making sure that he finishes it up and ties up the loose ends. He created a world that was altogether plausible. The Oyarsa and the Hnau add a lot, and also tell a story about our own world. As with anything Lewis writes, I can't help but look for a parable or ... Read More: |

| Having completely worn out three sets of the Narnia books, I saw this one and thought "Hmmmm...Hardbound, all together...what could be bad?"
It's missing many of the wonderful Pauline Baynes illustrations that are inextricably part of my own Narnia experience, and it's too big to be purse-stickable. Other than those factors, the prose is the same, and it's a good Narnia collection to keep on the shelf. |

| I put the series in my TBR pile when it dawned on me that I'd never read them. My kids have, and I'd read this one aloud to them several times, but it seemed like a cultural thing I was missing out on, so in they went. The Lemony Snicket books are in there, too.
I have no idea what to say about The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe that hasn't been said. I don't even know how I feel about it, because the story's so very familiar. There's the heavy-handed Christian allegory, I suppose, which doesn't take much to uncover. And there's really ... Read More: |
