| This is a great book for kids, even young ones around 2.5 years old. It's an engaging story and my son loves the part where the man wakes up to find his hats gone, and looks up and sees all the monkeys wearing the hats! He asks me to read it everynight, and remembers the phrase "caps for sale." |

| This book set is great for my 15 month old to carry around. We read a book, put it back and he loves to carry it around, with the other set of Curious George board books we got him. He feels like a big boy when he brings his box of books to us. |

| My youngest son likes monkeys a lot and George was a favorite of mine when i was little. He loves the book and read all of it by himself. It took him quite a while because it is a very long book and it is also well made. |

| Summer of the Monkeys may be historical fiction, but the dialogue is pretty modern and bland. More accurate dialogue would have added charm and humor. Also, the boy compares fireflies to "a million flashlights." The flashlight had not been invented. A quibble, yes, but come on. It takes you out of the story. I thought the challenge of the monkeys was funny, but everything else predictable. The denouement was beyond sappy, beyond belief, and way too saccharine.
