| I bought this book in hardcover and was thrilled to be able to read it without my glasses, the font is large and the (double?) spacing made it easy to read. And the book was fabulous. I love to read, I love dogs, I don't care about racing but after reading this book, I've found racing to be more interesting. | I have read about half of Murakami's novel and love them all for their unique perspective and deep insight. With the caveat that I am not a long distance runner, I found this book disappointing. It is very mundane compared to Murakami's other writing. I would recommend any of his novels over this book. |

| The Winners Manual is a guide for living one's life but the emphasis is throught sports so it appeals to folks who normally would not want to read a self-improvement book. My 16 year old son started reading this book and realized it was full of great ideas to become more successful in life and not just about Ohio State Football! This book is a WINNER. |

| I teach general chemistry as both a private tutor and as a free tutor at Purdue University. In my time, I've seen every general chemistry book known to man come across the table. Without fail, though, BLB is my reference text. | Although this book leaves swim training to the coaches, this book offers the incredible journey of Michael Phelps from childhood swimming to the 2004 Olympics. As a college swimmer, it was a relief to read about his training and see similarities with my own.
He offers lessons for life that are necessary for any young athlete. Phelps had help writing the book, but his words and experiences are still there. This man has been through a great deal and it is incredible to read of his sacrifice in the name of achieving greatness. Read More: |
