| When I was about five, my father would read to me from this book every night at bedtime and it is one of my fondest memories of my childhood. One year he took me to see the Nutcracker Ballet and I remembered the whole story from this book. Now that I am a mother, I looked for this book for my own daughter and immediately recognized the cover even though it has been over 20 years! | We enjoy reading the book together, but I can't wait for the batteries to go dead. It's so frustrating to try to read the book with the baby constantly pushing the buttons to play the music. We almost have to fight to get the correct buttons pushed to match the story, because he's so busy with the music buttons he doesn't care about the story. Maybe if you have a quieter baby that enjoys sitting and listening, this might be a better match; but my baby is constantly on the move and it's hard enough to keep him interested ... Read More: |

| I saw this book in a book store and couldn't wait to use my amazon voucher on it. However I didn't read all the specs nor the reviews and was very disappointed when my 4x4 book turned up. 1/4 of the original size. Oh well good for bookshelf space I guess. |

| When I tell people I'm reading a graphic novel adaptation of a Mozart opera, they tend to think I'm nuts. However, this was a really cool book. I was unfamiliar with the opera upon which this book was based when I started reading it, but the story is a wonderful work of fantasy with fun characters and a great message. The artwork is fantastic as well, and it really drew me into the story. I highly recommend this book to lovers of fantasy graphic novels with an open mind. |
