| Classical Seuss - which means a lot of fun for children as well as adults. The book itself is big enought for my 7 & 1/2 month old son to confortably sit on it. The only minus - too many black & white illustrations. |

| I didn't know about the story about Squanto and his life before and during when the settlers arrived on the shore, but now I do. thank you for breaking the mythical 'thanksgiving image' that we have thought for so many years. our society needs to know the truth, and not sugar coat it. |

| We love the "First Little House" book series. We have all of them but Farmer Boy Birthday and love them all. We have read "Little House in the Big Woods" out loud but my daughter still likes to read the books w/ pictures as well.
The art work is beautiful and the story true to Laura's own story. |

| This book the first four years is about a young couple who doesn't agree on being framers for a living. So they make a deal. The deal was that they would try out being farmers for 3 years then after the 3 years they would deside if they liked being a framer family. If they didn't like being framers then they would start a new life with a new job. If they did like being framers they would stick to it and be a happy family. | Admittedly, my interest ebbed and waned throughout this read. Just as I thought I "got" what the author intended, a new narrator would intervene and I'd be forced to revaluate the story. This, ironically, was the tension that kept me reading when I felt either lost or frustrated. I was determined to understand what Shield's was saying.

| I'm a teacher and I do enjoy children's literature. Books that draw me to read them again and again are a special joy, and this one is tops! Paulsen shares special stories of dogs he has known since childhood. Each story can be read independently, but there are several surprises that link dogs and stories through different periods of his life. This book made me understand and believe the incredible powers of 'man's best friend.' |

| Riding freedom is a story about a girl named Charlotte who lives in an orphanage. She runs away and pretends to be a boy. After disguising herself as a boy she changes her name to Charley. She is chosen to drive stagecoaches and work at a barn. The main characters in this story are: Charlotte, Hayward, Mr. Millshark, Mr. Ebeneezer Vern and Mrs. Boyle. Once when Charlotte was driving a stagecoach a storm came right after she got across the bridge, it collapsed. This is an adventure for me.

| I bought this book for my grandaughter's 5th birthday as this book is about Laura's 5th birthday. The illustrations are really wonderful. We went to Walnut Grove, MN last summer and I had bought one of the other books from this series. Easy reading and not long (fewer words) for younger children. |
