| I have been learning English for 5 years and thought my vocabulary was more or less good, but...reading this book made me realize that my vocabulary is really poor. I am happy to have this book! | If you are a complete beginner, as I was when I bought this book, be prepared to find yourself speaking and understanding before you are halfway through.
I think the reason this book is so effective is the amount of practice, exercises and examples, that it holds. Filling in the spaces is somehow very satisfying, because the lessons leave little doubt that you're doing it right. | We've used a different CD based system for French & this book/CD set "Learn Italian the Fast and Fun Way by Marcel Danesi & Barron's is FAR BETTER. It's simple to follow. I think the CD only systems are too difficult to follow & you need something in print that follows audio. This book is the coursework for a Italian class we're taking by a native of Italy & she said it's 99% correct. |

| After signing up for a Latin class at our local Junior College, I was sad to be informed by the professor that Latin is considered a dead language. I was sorry to hear that as it was really fun to listen to the tapes and follow along in the booklet. That was the easy part.
