| Really Great Stories! My kids loved them. Gertrude McFuzz is fabulous and John Lithgow was superb as the reader. In fact all of the cast were excellent in their roles.
The Big Brag, Thidwick, How Lucky You Are are easily perpetual favorites. We played these over and over. A not to be missed collection for young listeners.... ages 1 to 100! |

| This was the funniest book I have ever read. I found it in the Doctors office and was going to check it out for my grandsons to see if I needed to order it. I sat in the office and laughed out loud, then came home and ordered the book. My daughter and son in law are also delighted with this book and enjoy reading to the grandchildren. |

| I bought this book with "The King's Stilts" (see my review). I think this is one of the best kids' books ever, and my kids loved it when they were small. It was a sad day when our record of it got buckled by being left in the sun. Unavailable as a book when my kids were little, this is a delightful story with a typical Dr Seuss moral ending - change is not always for the best and novelty is fraught with peril. Get it for your kids, or your grandkids - they will love it, just as I, my kids, and my grandkids do! |

| Deservedly out of print. The spanish translation does not do justice to the story, being a literal word-by-word translation that destroys the rhythmic, poetic character of Seuss's classic. Likely to make a child think English is fun, lively language and Spanish a dull, pedantic one. |

| We all know this book, no need for me to re-iterate the plot.
What makes it work, though, is that Dr. Seuss understood the importance of breaking the rules - something many of his imitators never grasp. He didn't stick to a rhyme scheme or a meter all the time, he varied it and dropped it when needed. That makes his books readable instead of mind-numbing - even when you're reading them for the 1000th time straight :) |
