| As an Asian American whose father remarried I can relate to the Author. A wicked step-mother and two wicked step-sisters and a father who hated me because my mother left him. | I read this to our son, sadly, after he "out grew" these books, they were passed on. Happily, after searching all over I found these treasures on Amazon and now have a new collection for our beautiful grand daughter to enjoy. |

| Cinderella is, in my opinion, the all-time favorite classic Disney story for little girls. There's got to be a reason why there are so many grown-up books and movies referred to as "Cindarella stories!"

| These stories are great. I wouldn't read some of them to small children as they are much more scary than what we are used to with say Hans christian Anderson. I love the exotic adventures and the mystery of these tales. They take you to places so enchanting. I got it for myself as an adult and am in no way disappointed. |

| Had a chance to peruse this, but my comments are general and apply to many other stories in this genre.
As much as I loved fairy tales as a kid, I will never be the one to expose my daughter to them. The very idea of waiting for someone else to make everything better, that one should be long-suffering and meek in the meantime, etc., is an idea that creates unrealistic hopes that cripple people psychologically.
