| I've heard for several years the absolute wonder of this book. And finally I get around to reading it. What a joy to do that! This book is thoroughly adorable, packing heart I did not quite expect as well as an incredible blend of illustration and photograph. While I warn that certain ages of children may not be as impressed with it as others will, it's a wonderful book for whomever will listen. |

| This was our first Mo Willems book and my great grandchildren loved it!
Funny, well drawn, and contains a great lesson, too. We'll be adding to our Mo Willems library. |

| I came across this book when my wife found it on the shelf in a local bookshop.
She read it and encouraged our son to stop dancing around the bookstands and concentrate and read it. Although he prefers video games he loved it. | I have read this classic to my kids (and to myself, decades ago), and two of my daughters have read it too.
My 10-year old says that she find it believeable, even with the talking animals. By that, I think that she appreciates the humanization of the animal characters. This is a story, tenderly told, about life and death, friendship, selfishness and generosity, and generally what it means to live among others. Read it with your kids. |

| I purchased this book because I had lost the school library's copy and it was my husband's favourite book as a child. When it arrived I read it to every class from Kindergarten to year six and they all loved it. It was a good lead into the Beijing Games but it also led into a study of cormorants, river dwelling, mapping,relationships and counting.I can highly recommend this ageless story. |

| My 2.5 year old daughter received this book as a gift and we have never read the first one. The story is wonderful, funny and cute and the illustrations are a very creative mix with real photography. My daughter has this book memorized now and reads it to me which is priceless. I'm getting her the first one for her 3rd birthday and I'm sure it will be a great addition to our home library. |

| I love this book.
I understand it is a stereotype of the Chinese immigrant man. However, every single Chinese immigrant I know has trouble with the Rs and Ls in English, and I live in a big city surrounded by many immigrants. Chinese Americans do not have this problem. |
