| This was a really good ending to the series! I loved all the twists the story took. It was like riding with a giant and you have no idea where it is going to take you but you don't want to be left out of the excitement. I am sad that these books are over because I grew up with them. Cornelia Funke is one of my all time favorite authors and I hope to read more by her in the future. Thank you Cornelia Funke for one of the best rides that books can give! |

| We really enjoyed this book and reading it to our daughter - who is nearly three. It not only captivates her imagination but is full of wonderful old fashioned values - particularly of being "liked for the person who you are". I would highly recommend it. |

| This is one of the most enjoyable books I have ever read. I never heard of it growing up, and my parents were diligent in providing us with the classics. Even today most of the customers in my bookstore don't know it exists. This is a crime, because it belongs right up there with Alice in Wonderland and The Wind in the Willows. | This is the book for all the bookworms out there--the classic idea of a book popping to life when the right person reads it aloud.
It's an intensely creative story populated by Funke's traditional quirky, flawed characters that give so much heart and strength to an already-awesome, fast-moving plot. It's a fairy tale world of horror and adventure, good vs. evil and all that lies in between. |

| Yay, I'm being immature with my titles. Anyways. I'm going to be honest and blunt: It's been a while since I read this book, or it least part of the book. Now, I really tried to read it, I swear I did. I tried to stick with it... However, the book wasn't as good as Inkheart.
I really liked Inkheart, it was original, fun, and entertaining to read. I was so excited when I got Inkspell, I could hardly wait to read it...Until I started reading it. I got bored, I've tried to read it a number of times, but I always put it down after the first fifty pages ... Read More: |

| I use this book as part of my 100th day of school celebration. It helps my k students to have empathy for the elderly. We also discuss what they may look like when they are 100. Wonderful illustrations - typical Mem Fox style - perfect! Love it! |

| The book has a more narrative structure which makes it difficult to use as a reference for teaching. It does have some great examples of lesson ideas buried in there, though. I bought this book along with Notebook Know-How by Aimee Buckner and liked that much better for helping me teach. |

| I don't remember how old I was when I first read Harriet the Spy, but I read it and read it and read it. Reading it now with my eight-year-old daughter, I am reminded of what a strong influence this book had on me. I tried to spy like Harriet, and got a stern talking to from my mother not to listen at phones. I ate tomato sandwiches, and occasionally still do! I started writing in notebooks from age 12 onwards.
