I've read that male writers tend to be more plot based and female writers more character based. Every time I read a book I've been noticing that this statement is true. Women writers portray more emotion in their characters and this is what makes them so interesting. Most of the Artemis Fowl books are plot based and this one is too, but there are more glimpses of internal conflict from Artemis in this book than the others. He realizes things about himself which he doesn't particularly like and ... Read More:

This is a great version of the classic. Our 1-year old loves it, and it's hard to destroy.

There are days when I am just thoroughly annoyed by this book.

And yet it remains a classic, and I grudgingly agree.

How can anyone not love the awesome repetitive rhymes and varying colors and animals? And how can you not get chills at how these animals are all staring at each other?

The original of interactive books and still probably the best.

The 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See' book was recommended to me by both my 4 year old daughter's speech therapist and her teacher. In town just this book alone was priced at 7.95. I found the set here on Amazon.com and the price was just too good to pass up! All three of these books are great for helping teach proper sentence structure and pronoun usage with I and you. Brown Bear features colors, Polar Bear works on animal sounds and 'what do you hear?', and Panda Bear is 'what do you see' again ... Read More:

We bought this book for my son (2 years) when I was pregnant with our second child, who was born this past May. While I was pregnant, he wasn't interested in the book and gave a defiant "NO!" whenever I tried to read it- but once the baby came, it quickly became a favorite. My son has it memorized and will "read" it to himself and his baby brother. The book is simple and easy to understand but also gives some good guidance that toddlers can understand (such as needing to ask Mommy first to pick up the ... Read More:

We received this book as a gift, and it is the best "baby on the way" book we have read. My daughter (almost 3) loves it, asks for it all the time, and has pretty much memorized it now.

My friend's little girl who is the same age, and also expecting a little brother, loves it too.

It's nice how it emphasizes how the big sister can help, and how she is still special to mommy and daddy.

Simple enough for a very small child to understand, and very positive. I just wish it ... Read More:

Welcome to the world of the heyday of jazz. The year is 1936, and the world is open to a young orphan who has happened to find himself on the run.

Curtis writes with zesty personality for Bud and paints a portrait of a very likeable young boy who simply wants what all of us want: a family. He's a great kid with plenty of sass who is ready to take on the world and do what he needs to do to find himself his biological father.

Curtis does an excellent job of painting the culture, joys, and ... Read More:

I was one of those Moms who felt as though her child would never be potty trained! My 3-and-a-half year-old son just did not seem inclined to do it. We offered gifts and party incentives...nothing doing! He did like to pee in the "big potty" from time to time but that was about it. I even bought him a potty of his own. Every day I said, "Hey...let's try to poop on the potty today" and every day he replied, "Tomorrow, Mommy." I also bought the WordWorld Bucket Set - House made my Mega Blocks that I knew he would LOVE. ... Read More:

Eoin Colfer needs to stop. No, really. This book disappointed me to no end. I simply adored the first book. I mean, how cool is it to be rooting for the bad guy for a change? But then, Colfer began making Artemis a completely different character. He made Artemis come over to the good side. NO WAY! Bring back the criminal Artemis of old! This book was just plain weird. If I were you, I would read to book four or so, then stop. It all goes down hill from there

"Artemis Fowl" by Eoin Colfer is a great book to read to your kids while having a great time yourself.
This is a story of a young boy who is beyond a mischievous young imp sbut not quite a diabolical genius. When he decides to kidnap one of the Faries, (who happens to be a police officer for a force called ... Read More:
