| This is an awesome book and highly recommended to anyone who has issues with forgiveness from deep wounds inflicted by others. I love how the author brings out the relationship between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and how they long to touch our lives with their healing power.
His illustration of the Father always being what we need was overwhelming. I love this book and have purchased several to pass on to others, I want everyone to read 'The Shack'. PJMax |

| Wonderful. I ordered this book because the title fascinated me. I had no idea who the writer was or in what style it would be written. I had once visited Guernsey and thought a book about that small island would be interesting. It was, and more. It completely enveloped me. As a writer, I was so intrigued by her style of writing, which is completely composed of letters from her to some of the occupants of the island, and their replies to her. | I purchased the novel to read aloud to my teen/tween-aged grandchildren while on vacation in Minnesota's north woods. The characters were finely drawn and the setting beautifully and accurately described. The parts related to the breeding and training of dogs were simply wonderful. Reading aloud the thoughts of the mute main character didn't work particularly well, but that was expected. | Very good book. I would have been more connected to it if there was deeper character development. It gave good insight into the views of marriage and women in the early 1900s as well as the early career of Frank Lloyd Wright. Mamah and Frank were two people who lived before their times. The decisions that Mamah made were extremely difficult and I'm not sure what I would have done. | The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars was due to the fact that the first 100 pages were hard to get into. I was just coming off reading the Twilight Saga, and expectations were really high. I put the book down for a week, and when I tried again I couln't put it down. It was captivating. I loved the characters and am praying for a sequel! |

| Sorry, I must be missing a gene or two or three - cannot for the life of me understand why this book is supposed to be funny. Sedaris deals with the droll and mundane in life, and that's basically all the book is. |
